Top Drinks for Summer

Image
Of course I only thought of this post so I could use it as an excuse to try new drinks and drink my favourites! One of my favourite times of the year is just as it starts to get warm and you can sit outside with a nice drink - it's also the best time to try out the new drinks that hit the shelves. I've compiled my top 5(ish) that I'll be drinking this summer...  1) Malibu - or a cheap alternative! I love this fake Malibu which is from B&M Bargains for £3.99.. I'm a cheapskate and I don't care as it tastes no different! Malibu is a great summer drink as you can have it with any fruit juice so it's fresher or make a lovely frozen cocktail like a Pina Colada! 2) Summer Wines are always a great alternative to normal wine. I only drink Rose and even then I'm quite fussy so I find the flavoured fruit wines a lot more to my taste. And after much deliberation, and trying out about 7 different bottles (hangs head in shame!) my favourite this ye...

Life update: Qualification, putting a ring on it and rescuing another pig!

Image
I'm kinda fed up of being a broken record when I keep saying "I will get back into blogging" as I know I won't, I won't ever be able to do it as often as I'd like as I juggle a full time job, a second job doing free lance make up as well as attempting to have some sort of life. And it's been a while but today I have the urge to blog so I've just posted about my new favourite nail paints and I've currently got a list in front of me of my new blog posts ideas... So first up... lots of life updates.. I finally qualified as a professional make up artist which has been fantastic for both at work on the No7 counter as well as doing makeovers mobile - I've done wedding trials, night out makeovers, you name it. And you know what, it was 6 months of hard work and making the time to get the 27 units with 13 modules in each done but I got there eventually (: Also, and I'm sure many of you are bored of hearing about it but back in...

Product Empties!

Image
I've done an empties post before but it was a while ago and while I was having a clear out over the weekend, I realised how many products I was just holding onto for the empty (or nearly empty) packaging! Here's a little Empties post for yaaaa!  Think both of these were in my previous empties but I get through hair products, particularly conditioners and treatments, like there's no tomorrow. I've used the Pantene ProV range since they brought out the Repair items last year but lately I've heard a lot of bad things about Pantene so I've moved on. I'm still loving the Ultimate Blends treatment though - I'm just glad they're normally on offer for a couple of quid as a bottle will only cover my hair over about 3 washes. It is one I'll keep repurchasing.  Make up times! Collection Concealer... classic. I've brought it like 23847238746 times and will forever continue to purchase. Smash box Primer - will always be my favourite ...

Barry M Coconut Infusion Gel Nail Paint Collection

Image
My favourite nail polish brand by a clear mile is Barry M so when I was doing the delivery at work this week and saw there was a whole new collection of Barry M Gel Nail Paints... with COCONUT infused, I got a little over excited and just had to try them all.  The colours are amazing and there's a great variety between bright colours, to pastels, to some lovely nudes! These are only 5 of the colours but I'm definitely going to be purchasing Flamingo (the tangerine one), Bikini (the green one) and Starfish (nude on index finger) while they're on offer at Boots.  I tested them out Wednesday night and I only took them off last night (Saturday) as I had to look a bit more professional for work today and wanted just one colour. They'd barely chipped despite being put on without a base or top coat - the shine was perfect too but what I loved is how quickly they dried!  The new Barry M Coconut Infusion Gel Nail Paints are perfect for Spring and Summer and a su...

Easter Lush Haul

Image
Ok so it's kinda Easter/kinda normal Lush products after I thought I'd treat myself to a few goodies while I was shopping in be week. I've noticed lately that my bath products have been going down a lot quicker than normal and after finding out that Nick has also been using them (monkey hiding face emoji!) I thought I'd better get him a couple too so he doesn't use my favourites!  I picked up 2 of the Fluffy eggs as they smell AMAZING! I'm actually excited to go to the gym shortly as I know I have a Lush bath waiting for me with on of these beauties waiting when I get home.  I also picked up the Easter carrot set too! The colours are so vibrant and you can already tell the product is really pigmented so I'm so excited to see how bright it turns the bath water.  Finally for Nick I picked up the Dragon Egg(?) as it has popping candy in and he's obsessed with popping candy - he was also moaning that a couple he'd used...

Primark Home Haul

Image
I don't often do Primark as the nearest one to me is 14 miles away and even then there isn't a huge home section so while I was in Blackpool last week, I hit up the 5 story (yup!) Primark and raided the home section well and good.  I've started to make our (what I call) spare-spare room into a mini dressing room with my dressing table and my beauty bits so I wanted to make it a bit more homely and cosy. All I had to base the room around was my white dressing table and a brown sofa so I knew that rustic was the way to go.. My favourite.  These 3 are perfect with each other and give off a "travel" vibe and anyone know knows me knows I love travelling, even have a love for hotel rooms and little B&Bs, no matter where. The black/wooden/gold theme stands brilliantly on my cream walls and leaf hanging is really different so I couldn't not pick it up.  Both these wall hangings were £1 and stick with the wooden/rustic theme so make t...

Mother & Daughter Boohoo OOTD

Image
To help celebrate Mother's Day, Boohoo.com ensured that my Mum, Sonia, and I were dressed for the occasion. As we won't see eschother on Subday sadly, we went for a few drinks tonight to celebrate my engagement. Neither me or Mum are "dress people" but we both enjoy getting dressed up in a nice top with jeans or leggings ready for a few cocktails so our new tops were perfect for the occasion.  Mum likes her simple black tops with her black trousers so this chiffon wrap top is perfect for her and comes in a variety of sizes which she was so impressed with. At just £20 and available in a variety of shades, I think I'll also be getting this for myself.  Ps - she didn't want her lovely face in the photo!  As much as I live chiffon, I'm all about the patterned blouses and overs sized shirts so I absolutely fell in love with this paisley print blouse. It was great over my black leggings. And again, for just £20, this is great for any occasio...
